I have now found more information about Simeon Wellington Ostrom's second wife. Her name is often spelled McKenna, McKinnie or McKenney. Anne McKenna (McKenney) was born on July 29, 1825, in Kingston, Ontario according to some and to her death registration, however I have just found new information that she may have immigrated to Canada in the early 1850's and settled in Hastings and then Prince Edward County. I was able to find an Ann E McKenna in 1851, the age she would have been, in Ameliasburg. working as a teacher and living with the Rush family. This would be just before her marriage to Simeon and could also explain why the first child was born in Ameliasburg. On the census it mentions that she was from out of the area and mentions Rawdon, a township in Hastings County. I was able to find a family of the same name in Hastings census 1851. I believe this James McKenna might have been her father. In the 1861 census he has bought land in Marysburgh, Prince Edward County. It could also explain her residence in 1871 in Marysburgh. I was able to find a marriage registration for them of February 02, 1852. It took place in Victoria District, which at the time included Hasting County. She married Simeon in Hastings, Ontario, on February 23, 1852, when she was 26 years old. Anne and Simeon had six children in 12 years as follows: Martha Maria 1854, Albert 1859, Arthur Danesbury 1860, Frederick "Fred" 1862, Jane 1863, and Isaac Brock 1866. According to birth records the first child was born in Ameliasburg, Prince Edward County, suggesting she possibly went to her parents home to give birth, which was common practise in the day. It appears that all the other children were born in Sidney, Hastings which was Simeon's family farm. Her residence is in Marysburgh, Prince Edward, Ontario, in 1871 also suggesting she might have been visiting with family. Anne moved to Belleville after the death of Simeon Wellington Ostrom 1879, but it could have been several years after. Her residence is Belleville in 1881. She is living with Michael Grass, and 1891 with Henry M Grass who appear to be the same person. It is in the 1891 Census she lists her father's place of birth as Ireland and her mother's as the United States. Michael Henry Grass is her step-daughter Eleura Grass' father-in-law, recently widowed. Anne McKenna was alive when Canada elected Prime Minister Wilfrid Laurier Canada's first French Canadian Prime Minister. She was living in Belleville, Ontario, in 1901. She died on October 13, 1905, in Hastings, Ontario, having lived a long life of 80 years, and was buried in Belleville, Ontario.

OFCA # QU-P-0986 for Martha, Herriman and his parents
Martha Maria Ostrom (1852 - 1886) -- Herriman C Mitchell (1858 - )
Martha was the first child born to Simeon and his second wife. I have not found a birth record but her age can be confirmed by the Canadian Census and her marriage. That said, the dates vary from 1852 to 1855. She appears as nine years of age born in 1852, in the 1861 census and eighteen in the 1871 census. When she marries Herriman Mitchell carriage maker, May 24, 1880, she gives her age as twenty-five which would suggest she might have changed it to be closer to the age of her husband, who was younger. She and "Herman" had four children, Mary Sebuda 1881, Victoria Ann 1882, Charles Arthur 1884, and Grace Maria 1886 before she died at a young age. Martha died April 25, 1886 from paralysis of the heart, shortly after the birth of her daughter Grace. She is buried at the Consecon Cemetery, in Ameliasburgh, Prince Edward County, Ontario. Her children appear to have been farmed out to families in the Prince Edward County.

Albert H Ostrom (1859 - 1926) -- Louisa Almira Matteson (1857 - 1920) (2) Ethel Cook (1891 - 1942)
Albert Ostrom, second child of Simeon Ostrom and Anna McKenna was born in June of 1859 and appears in the Canadian Census for 1861 and 1871. He would leave home to settle in the Untied States in 1877 at the age of 17. He appeared to have tried farming for awhile as he appears in the US Census for 1900 listed as a married farmer but his wife does not appear to be with him at the time. By 1910 he was living in Milford, Oakland, Michigan, married to Louisa Matterson and working as an undertaker. According to the census they had been married since 1881. Louisa would die shortly after the census for 1920 was taken and Albert would remarry the 19th of August of the same year. His second wife was Ethel Cook. The couple would remain in Morgan, Ashtabula, Ohio, USA until his death February 25, 1926. Albert is buried in Mount Avon Cemetery, Rochester, Oakland County, Michigan. Albert had no children.

Frederick (Fred) Ostrom (1862 - 1928) -- Bertha Florence Windsor (1872 - 1942)
Frederick Ostrom was born on February 25, 1862, in Ontario to Anne McKenna, and Simeon Wellington Ostrom. Frederick Ostrom or "Fred" as he was known was living in Prince Edward, Ontario, in 1871, just after Ontarians celebrated the formation of the autonomous Dominion of Canada. He lived in Thurlow, Ontario, in 1881, and farmed with his older brother Arthur. In 1888 Fred left Canada for the United States. He settled in Kansas and married Bertha Florence Windsor in Lincoln, Kansas, USA, on October 31, 1892, when he was 30 years old. Fred and Bertha raised a family of nine children. Everett was born in 1894, followed by Louisa M 1896, Avis D 1897, Harriet Eliza 1899, Arthur 1902, Frederick 1905, Luella 1906, Albert Gordon 1913 and Verna Fae 1817. The gap between Lieuella B and Albert and Albert and Verna suggests there might have been others. Fred lived in Carneiro, Kansas, USA, on March 1, 1919. He remained there until his death at 66 years of age, March 1 1928. He is buried in Carneiro, Ellsworth County, Kansas.

When Isaac Brock Ostrom was born in 1866 in Hastings, Ontario, his father, Simeon, was 63 and his mother, Anne, was 41. He had ten brothers and four sisters. He can be found in the 1881 census living in Brighton with a family by the name of Lawson and attending school. He died on February 6, 1888, in his hometown from inflammation of the lungs at the age of 22, and was buried there. Isaac worked as a yeoman (good honest worker) in his short life.
